Allama Sajid Naqvi opposes restrictions on pilgrims due to Coronavirus suspicion.

Veteran Islamic scholar also opposed closure of Taftan border with Iran because of reports of Coronavirus.

He asked government to ensure screening at entry points at land borders and airports foe that instead of restricting Zaireen.

Shia Ulema Council leader cited public objection to Iran-specific measures although Coronavirus hit China the most and Afghanistan also fell to the epidemic.

He said that the authorities had not closed borders with China and Afghanistan hence people have legitimate concerns over closure of border with Iran.

Allama Sajid Naqvi said that experts view Coronavirus related exaggeration aims at targeting only those Zaireen (pilgrims) who go to or come from Iran.

He proposed establishment of Pakistan Iran Joint Central Health Unit to screening and certifying pilgrims about it.

He reiterated his demand that government must ensure smooth arrival and departure of pilgrims and they must not stop under any pretext.

Senior Shia Islamic scholar asked Balochistan government to ensure tests of pilgrims within two days and must not stop those who don’t suffer from the epidemic.
