A Lahore High Court Review Board Thursday extended until three months, the detention of notorious takfiri terrorist ring leader Malik Ishaq, co-founder of outlawed terrorist outfit Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (now called ASWJ). He was put behind the bars for spreading sectarian hatred at many gatherings in different cities.

He and his banned outfit are involved in genocide against Shia Muslims alongside killings Sunni Bralevis and also estranged comrades of their own group. But, they are not brought to book for those heinous crimes.

The officials of the home department produced Malik Ishaq before the provincial review board and pleaded that he spread religious hatred among the citizens in different places and the danger would maximize if he was released before the month of Muharram.

The board held in-camera proceedings where Malik Ishaq’s counsel sought his release. But, after hearing the both sides, the board accepted the request of the government and extended the detention of Malik Ishaq till three months.
