Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen, Shia Ulema Council and Imamia Students Organisation have activated their cadres for speedy rescue and relief operations to help the flood-affected people of Punjab and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

“Countless people have been rendered homeless, their belongings and cattle drowned and home submerged. They need our help and philanthropists should donate wholeheartedly to relieve the flood affected people,” urged Allama Arif Wahidi, secretary general of Shia Ulema Council.

He said that relief camps were set up in many areas where people should deposit their donated cash and relief goods. He urged the officials of SUC to intensify the relief operations.

Nasir Abbas Shirazi chaired a meeting of his MWM to chalk out the next phase of relief operation. He reviewed the working of Khair ul Amal Foundation for flood-stricken people.

“It is obligatory on us according to our religion Islam to help the flood-affected people of our homeland. We should leave no stone unturned for their earliest rehabilitation,” he said. He briefed what sorts of help MWM and its Foundation had extended so far to rescue and relieve the stuck-up people of flood-hit areas.

Imamia Students Organisation also began its relief operations. Shia parties and student organisation have distributed relief items among the affected people and also provided medical facilities to them. Shiite News had already reported their flood relief activities.
