FM Qureshi wants Pakistan Iran continued consultation for enhanced ties. Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi emphasised the need for continued consultations for enhanced bilateral ties and regional cooperation.

The minister said this while talking to the outgoing Ambassador of Iran Mehdi Honardoost. The latter paid a farewell call on him at the foreign ministry in Islamabad.

Moreover, Foreign Minister lauded Iranian Ambassador’s services in promoting bilateral relations and cooperation.

Pakistan thanks Ayatollah Khamenei

Furthermore, he thanked Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei for supporting peace in the South Asian region.

During the meeting, Ambassador Mehdi Honardoost also admired Pakistan’s role in establishing peace in the region. Specially, he also noted Pakistan’s strengthening relations with Iran.

He also briefed the foreign minister on his efforts to strengthen Pakistan-Iran relations during his four-year tenure.

Meanwhile, Honardoost referred to Pakistan-Iran strong brotherly historic ties. Therefore, he suggested that both countries should explore their maximum potential for enhanced ties.

While expressing his views, he termed the future of Iran, Pakistan ties as bright.

Earlier, Mehdi Honardoost had paid farewell call on President of Pakistan and other high officials.

President Alvi hails Pak Iran ties

According to a statement from President House, Mr Alvi said that Pakistan and Iran had close bilateral relations.

He further cited that Pakistan Iran relations based on religion, culture, people-to-people contacts and commonality of interests.

Both countries enjoy cordial relations. Particularly, military to military ties too have seen improvement.

Notbly, Pakistan Iran military ties also strengthened during tenure of Mehdi Honardoost as ambassador.

Particularly exchange of visit showed improved ties as Chief of Staff of Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Bagheri visited Pakistan while Pakistan Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa also visited Iran.
