Pakistan FIA and Iran Police Liaison Office opened at embassy in Tehran. Brigadier General Hadi Shirzad Chief of INTERPOL and Head of International Police of the Islamic Republic of Iran attended the ceremony as special guest.

Besides, DG West Asia Syed Rasoul Mousavi and Director of Pakistan Safari of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also attended. Other prominent guests included: a number of diplomats, high-ranking Iranian officials and dignitaries.

Ambassador Riffat Masood

Moreover, Pakistan Ambassador to Tehran Riffat Masood welcomed the initiative. The opening of Police link offices in both countries aim at countering human trafficking, smuggling, illegal immigration, and banking frauds.

She lauded establishing such cooperation and collaboration between Iran and Pakistan.
She emphasised that it would curb human trafficking and smuggling through borders. And it would enhance trade and commercial activities between the two countries.

Shirzad also spoke

Meanwhile, Shirzad also lauded the friendly relations and historic cultural, religious and security commonalities between Pakistan and Iran.

He emphasized the importance of promoting bilateral international cooperation. He also called for fighting against transnational crimes, particularly in the field of police cooperation.

Pakistan and Iran ties

Unfortunately, Pakistan remains under pressure from US and Saudi monarchy as far as ties with Iran is concerned.

Despite that pressure, Pakistan government continues its relations with Iran.
