Reportedly, the terrorists opened fire on his vehicle near Khudadad Colony in Karachi today.
Moreover, reports had it that he was travelling to court when terrorists on motorcycles attacked him.
Due to firing, policeman’s vehicle collided with a rickshaw. As a result of firing and collision, he sustained critical injuries.
Moreover, people shifted him to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where doctors declared his condition as precarious.
However, terrorists managed to escape after targeted attack on him.
Reasons behind terror attack
Most importantly, Ghous Alam has remained a known counterterrorism specialist in police.
During his police service, he conducted various counterterrorism operations. That angered outlawed Lashkar-e-Jhangvi and its mother wing Sipah Sahaba (ASWJ).
Hence, analysts also believe that the ASWJ takfiri terrorist outfit may have masterminded that attack.
Presently, the police officer was also working on news anchor Mureed Abbas murder case.
Due to that reason, one may not say with certainty which reason may have been behind the attack.
However, one thing remains clear that well-planned ambsuh lead to banned terror outfits.
