Shia Muslims set all to take active part in political struggle on national issues
Shia Muslim supporters of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen are preparing to take active part in the Revolution March, as an ally of Dr Tahir ul Qadri’s Pakistan Awami Tehrik on Thursday.
Allama Sajid Naqvi’s Tehrik-e-Jafaria’s struggle as an ally of Pakistan People’s Party in the Peoples Democratic Alliance, had taken active part, in the long march against the PMLN’s first government in early 1990s.
Since then, Shiites were relatively less active on national political scene. But, MWM leadership that first launched a struggle for the Shiites legitimate rights and got Balochistan’s incompetent government through a peaceful struggle has brought Shia to force to play leading role on broad national agenda.
“To protect Pakistan and its interests, alliance of Sunni Muslims with Shia Muslims augurs well for people of Pakistan,” Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafari, secretary general of the MWM said.
Even though the known Opposition parties are not joining the Revolution March, they are critical of Nawaz Sharif-led government. They said PMLN government mishandled the situation and government is responsible for not sorting out the issues on time. Now, it was too late to form judicial commission.
Despite crackdown on peaceful political workers of said opposition parties, they are vowing to participate in the Revolution March at all cost.
