Kohat notables see Moharram a symbol of unity

Sunni and Shia Muslim notables of Kohat vowed unity at a meeting held under the aegis of Qaumi Wahdat Council regarding Moharram.

Notably, Sunni Mishr Seth Gohar Bangash, Cleric Abdul Jalil, Nasim Bangash, Imamia Ulema Council’s Allama Khursheed Anwar Javadi, MWM’s Allama Iqbal Behishti attended.

Shia Ulema Council KP president Allama Hameed Imami, Allama Syed Qaisar Abbas, Hashim Raza, Allama Muntazir and many other Sunni-Shia mishran, ulema attended.

Both sides emphasised that Moharram remains symbol of unity. Particularly, they also called for burying all sorts of differences during Moharram specially.

Furthermore, they turned down sectarianism in Pakistan and reiterated unity among them.

However, Shia notables accused Kohat administration of creating KDA Masjid controversy. They made it clear that controversy has no sectarian aspect. They said they would not cooperate with Kohat administration if the latter fails to address the issue.
