Pakistan opposes armed conflict in Persian Gulf: ex-naval official

Former Vice Admiral of Pakistan Navy and ex-ambassador to Saudi Arabia Khan Hasham bin Saddique opposed armed conflict in Persian Gulf.
In an interview, he made clear that tension in Persian Gulf not in the interest of the entire world, let alone West.
He cited that Persian Gulf remains the most important waterway for many, including Pakistan, hence tension not in anyone’s interest.
Therefore, Hasham, who presides Islamabad Policy Research Institute said Pakistan wants to see peace and stability in this vital region.
Furthermore, he noted economic interests of Japan, China, South Korea, India and Pakistan also remain tied to it.
Hence, he underlined that conflict at sea serves nobody’s purpose.
However, he referred that Pakistan always cooperated with international community for peace and stability.
Moreover, ex-vice admiral said that Pakistan wants all conflicts and disagreements resolved through peaceful purposes.
