Muharram security in garrison city of Pakistan remains under threat
Government and local administration need to ensure foolproof security for Muharram azadari congregations in Rawalpindi.
Notably, reports of understaffed Bomb Disposal Squad and Police in Pindi must jolt the concerned authorities.
Besides, these agencies also face a shortage of dysfunctional firearms and metal detectors ahead of Muharram.
For said reasons, Civil Defence don’t seem prepared to make security arrangements, although Muharram approaches fast.
Hence, Shia Muslims have expressed dismay over the reports that BDS had only two people for that job.
Moreover, three posts for technicians and two posts for first aid providers were lying vacant for several months since staffers retirement.
