Former ambassador to the US Ashraf Jehangir Qazi said that if US confrontation with Iran continues, Pakistan’s strategic environment will be destroyed.
He was sharing his views at Islamabad Policy Institute (IPI), an Islamabad-based policy think tank. The IPI had organised a roundtable discussion to analyse Prime Minister Imran Khan’s visit to Washington.

Most importantly, veteran of international diplomacy urged Pakistan government they need to tell US all this.
Furthermore, he said that all Pakistan need to tell US includes that their confrontation with Iran would put peace in Afghanistan back for thirty years.

Qazi also advised: “Look into their eyes and tell them that if there is conflict with Iran there would be no chance for peace within the Middle East.”

However, he admitted that the Prime Minister Imran Khan’s US visit provided a good beginning.

But veteran diplomat also alerted regarding problems ahead if things do not go as per expectation of President Trump.

Moreover, he noted that the US wants Pakistan to do numbers of things with Taliban. But, he pointed to the Pakistan’s limited influence on Taliban that could not satisfy the US.
