Pakistan acknowledges ISI role in tracking Bin Laden

Finally, it has been confirmed by no less than Prime Minster of Pakistan himself that Pakistan’s main spy agency ISI played lead role to help find Osama Bin Laden.

Most importantly, PM Imran Khan made his claim in an interview with Fox News.

Currently, he visits Washington on his first official visit,

The anchor asked whether Pakistan would release the jailed doctor Shakil Afridi. He cited that his fake immunisation drive helped the US track and kill the terror chief in 2011.

However, Khan replied to host Bret Baier Pakistanis consider Shakeel Afridi a spy; therefore his remains an emotive issue for Pakistanis.

Furthermore, he admitted ISI provided the US with a lead that helped them find and kill Al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden.

Interestingly and amazingly, Pakistan has until now officially denied having any knowledge of the terror chief. US special forces shot him dead in a night time raid on May 2, 2011.

Moreover, he said “we in Pakistan always felt that we were an ally of the US. And if we had been given the information about Osama Bin Laden, we should have taken him out.”

Then, Baier questioned if Khan understood the skepticism around the Inter Services Intelligence agency (ISI) for leaking key information.

Most importantly, Prime Minister Khan answered: “And yet it was ISI that gave the information which led to the location of Osama Bin Laden.”
