Qatar strongly condemns Israeli threats to storm Rafah

Qatar has denounced in the strongest terms the Israeli threats to invade Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, and warned of a humanitarian catastrophe in the city, which has become a final refuge for hundreds of thousands of displaced people inside the besieged strip.

In a statement today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the UN Security Council “to take urgent action to prevent the Israeli occupation forces from storming Rafah and committing genocide in the city, and to provide full protection for civilians in accordance with international law and international humanitarian law”.

The ministry also affirmed Qatar’s categorical rejection of attempts to forcibly displace the Palestinian people from the Gaza Strip.
