Israel attacks Damascus airport
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that Israeli air strikes on Sunday made Damascus airport inoperable just hours after flights had resumed following a similar attack last month.
“Israeli warplanes on Sunday afternoon carried out a new raid targeting Damascus International Airport… putting it out of service again,” said the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
According to the Al Watan newspaper, regular flights have been rescheduled to the airports in Aleppo and Latakia.
Al Watan also reported on November 17, citing a military source, that Syria’s air defense forces had repelled a missile attack on Damascus’ southern neighborhoods. Airstrikes were delivered at a number of military facilities from the Golan Heights.
On October 22, Israeli warplanes delivered strikes at runways at the Damascus and Aleppo airports. Two airport workers were killed.
