Hezbollah showing off combat expertise: Analyst

Syria militantsLebanon’s resistance movement Hezbollah is showing new aspects of its military expertise in its combat against Takfiri militants operating in Syria, an analyst tells Press TV.

“People in Lebanon, people in the region…know very well that you are talking about a gradual accumulation of capacities, of skills and of very important expertise in the battlefield especially in Syria,” Ibrahim Moussawi told Press TV in an interview.

Moussawi’s comments came one day after Hezbollah Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem said Hezbollah is fighting the militants in Syria.

The analyst said a “new era” has just started for Hezbollah to prove “more of its expertise in many different fronts.”

“They (Hezbollah combatants) are experiencing new kind of battles and this is going to add more and more strength, expertise and skills to the resistance and this is going to give more morale and skill to the resistance as well,” said Moussawi.

He added that Hezbollah’s combat against the foreign-backed militants fighting the Syrian government would not distract it from its main enemy, Israel.

“Hezbollah even if it is engaged in Syria it is not going to be distracted from the major enemy, from the major and number one battle front, which is in the Israeli side.”

He noted that Hezbollah is always ready to repel “any offensive by the Israelis,” adding, “This has been proved by some of the operations that the resistance did.”

Moussawi also emphasized there is some sort of “coordination between some of the Takfiri groups and the Israelis especially in the Golan Heights.”
