Lebanese Sunni cleric warns against prejudice among Islamic scholars
A Lebanese Sunni scholar criticized recent conference in Egypt for its stress on continuation of massacre in Syria and demanded Muslim scholars to avoid prejudiced stances.
Sheikh Ahmad Al Zain, head of Lebanon Assembly of Muslim Scholars, slammed recent Egypt conference on the stance of clerics on Syria crisis for its stress on arming the terrorist groups and continuation of terror attacks in the war torn country urging Muslim religious leaders not to take prejudiced stances, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He expressed regret over what some Muslim scholars and politicians believe on Syria and their stress on persistence of war in the country.
“The war in Syria aims at destruction of Resistance-supporters and those who are against reconciliation with the Zionist regime,†he said and called the decision of Syria to reject peace with the Zionist regime as an honorable decision.
He said such conferences aim at undermining Iran-Syria unity and finally preventing more support of Syrian government for Lebanon Islamic Resistance.
Lebanese cleric noted,†What we witness in Syria is social, political and civilization destruction of the country and this is a big shame for human civilization, the Arab League and some of its member states.â€
Prominent Sunni figure called Muslim scholars to return to holy Qur’an and guidelines of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) rather and avoid the trap of religious intrigues and plots of the enemies.
Sheikh Ahmad al Zain urged international bodies, the United Nations Security Council, Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Arab League to make efforts for stop of war in Syria, return of the refugees and reconstruction of the demolitions so that the whole issue is resolve through dialogue between both sides.
Three-day conference on the stance of Muslim scholars on Syria crisis was held in Egypt that stressed the necessity of all-out jihad in Syria and prevention of opposition forces to be dubbed as terrorists.
