bintjbeilA fresh demonstration has been staged in Lebanon’s northeast governorate of Hermel where thousands of people showed their outrage at a US-made anti-Islam film insulting Prophet Mohammad (PBUH)
Anti-US and anti-Israeli sentiments were skyrocketing among the crowds who set ablaze both American and Israeli flags during the Sunday protest rally.

Chanting the slogan “Loyalty to the Messenger of Allah,” the protesters accused the US and the Israeli regime of sponsoring the blasphemy against Muslim sanctities.

Several political and religious figures who took part in the rally stressed the importance of unity among different faiths to avert any Western attempt to create religious strife in the Middle East.
“Muslims and Christians will stand in defense of the prophet of humanity after he was target of assault by US administration and Zionists. And as we have defeated their military we will defeat their diplomacy, we will defeat their arrogant policies,” lawmaker Marwan Fares told Press TV.

Last week, Hezbollah leader Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah called for a week of anti-US protests across Lebanon over the insulting film, which he described as “the worst attack ever on Islam”.

The movie has sparked anti-US protests across the globe. Protesters demand the US government apologize to the Muslim world over the anti-Islam movie and punish those behind the blasphemous act.

Anger in the Muslim world was further fueled after a French magazine published cartoons mocking Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) on September 19.
