Militants Kill Lebanese Soldier in Arsal

Two masked militants on motorbike killed a Lebanese army soldier Sunday night in the northeastern town of Arsal.

Sergeant-Major Khaled Ezzedine was killed immediately after the two gunmen opened fire at him near his house, the army directorate said in a statement on Monday.

The soldier’s body was moved to Al-Rahme Hospital, the National News Agency said.

The army directorate said “investigations were opened into the incident to determine the identity of the perpetrators to arrest them”.
