Lahore High Court rejected the petition of MWM leader Syed Nasir Abbas Shirazi against Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah ruling that the petition is not maintainable.

MWM deputy secretary general Nasir Shirazi had sought disqualification of Rana Sanaullah on the ground that Punjab Law Minister maliciously tried to fan sectarian hatred against the impartial judge who prepared a fair inquiry report on Model Town massacre in which at least 14 supporters of Allama Dr Tahirul Qadri, chief of Pakistan Awami Tehreek, were killed. Shirazi called Rana’s statement as biased, malicious and incorrect.
Shirazi said in his petition that Rana Sanaullah tried to divide the state organ (judiciary) by calling Justice Baqir as Shia and his decision as sectarian. He said his incorrect statement amounted to sedition and he might be disqualified as a member of the Punjab legislature.
