The sit-in being staged in Quetta to protest against the targeted killings of Shia Muslims has entered its seventh day. (Shia) Hazara Taxi Drivers Association has begun this protest campaign and mainstream Shia parties back the sit-in protesters.

Friday prayer leader Allama Syed Hashmi Mousavi (also affiliated with Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen), Shia Ulema Council Balochistan chapter president Akbar Zahidi have also addressed at the sit-in.
Women, children, youth and elderly people and families of Shia martyrs are participating in the sit-in. They are demanding end to Shia genocide particularly the persecution of Hazara Shia Muslims. They demand capital punishment to terrorists.
Reports had it that Tahir Hazara is trying to hijack the protest taking advantage of highly charged people who have lost their near and dear ones due to targeted killings. However, Shia Muslims have made it clear that State authorities must take practical steps and actions against the terrorists; otherwise, people such as Tahir could take undue advantage of sentiments of the families of martyrs.
