Al-Qaeda’s leading member killed in southern Baqubah

Security source said in a statement that a senior leading member for al-Qaeda was killed in a security operation conducted south of Baqubah, the capital of Diyala province on Tuesday.

The source added that the military force launched raid and search operations centered in Jawad Alpasho village in the background of an earlier armed attack that targeted a military checkpoint south of Buhruz district south of Baqubah. Two soldiers were killed and three were wounded.

He added that the military force clashed with al-Qaeda terrorist leaving one leading member of al-Qaeda killed on the spot.
