Brigadier escapes an assassination attempt, 2 officers injured in 2 incidents in Kirkuk

Police chief of emergency battalions of Kirkuk escaped an assassination attempt by three explosive devices on Thursday.

A security source said that “three bombs had been planted on the Airport Road west of the city targeted Brigadier Kattab Omar, which led to the damage of the protection cars.”

On the other hand, a Major in the awaking forces in Hawija and a captain in the army were wounded when a roadside bomb exploded in Riyadh area southwest of Kirkuk, the source said.

The source noted that “the explosive device, which planted near Al-Noor compound of Riyadh district, southwest of Kirkuk, exploded on a civilian car that the Major and the Captain were traveling by.”
