Two armed cells of al Qaeda arrested in Diyala.

Police Forces of Diyala province arrested seven elements who were planning to carry out armed attacks targeting civilian populations during the past days of Eid al-Fitr, reports from Baquba said on Thursday.

Lt. Col. Ghalib Atiya media spokesman on behalf of the leadership of the Diyala police said : “ Security forces belonging to the Emergency Battalion Directorate launched a raid and search operation during Eid al-Fitr days concentrated in east and west areas of Baquba, resulted in the arrest of two cells linked to al-Qaeda composed of seven people were planning to target civilians with improvised explosive devices and adhesive devices in Baquba and its suburbs. / End
