Six killed, 17 injured in Iraq attacks
At least six people have been killed and 17 others injured in separate attacks across Iraq, according to security officials.An Iraqi Interior Ministry official said that a roadside bomb killed two policemen and injured eight people in the Mansur district of western Baghdad on Friday, AFP reported.Â
In Baquba, 60 kilometers (37 miles) north of Baghdad, gunmen sprayed policemen guarding the compound of a Turkish company involved in a garbage collection project, killing three and injuring one, a security official said.Â
All the gunmen fled, leaving behind a vehicle that exploded shortly afterwards, injuring eight people, including a woman, the official added. Police said a pediatrician was killed in his car in the city of Kirkuk, 240 kilometers north of the capital.Â
Ibrahim Shaeer Jabbar al-Jumaili was murdered after he resisted attempts by four people to kidnap him.An official with the security services said there have been at least 45 abductions in Kirkuk since the start of the year.Â
