Three killed in fresh Iraq violence
Three people have been killed and nine others wounded in Iraq as a new spate of militant attacks hits the country after days of relative calm.One policeman was killed and another was wounded in a bomb explosion in the provincial capital city of Baquoba, Diyala.
The incident occurred when an explosive device detonated, targeting a police patrol near the main road of al-Hadid village, northwest of  Baqouba.In Baghdad, one civilian was killed and four more were injured by an improvised explosive device in the city’s southeastern al-Zaafaraniya region.
Meanwhile, an interpreter working for a US engineering team was gunned down in the southern province of Wasit.
The attack came on Tuesday afternoon when a sniper shot the interpreter who was accompanying a Provincial Reconstruction Team in al-Damouk neighborhood in the east of the provincial capital, Kut.
One civilian and two guards were injured on Tuesday when a gunman threw a hand grenade at the back door of the Central Bank in the city of Mosul, in the northern province of Nineveh, a police official told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“The guards opened fire on the attacker, but he fled to an unknown place,†he added.
Another civilian was injured in a separate bomb blast which hit a residential area in Mosul’s central Bab-Ligish area.
