90 Martyred and Injured in Baghdad Shia Mosque Explosions

90 killedTwo explosions near a Shia mosque in the Iraqi capital Baghdad have left at least 35 people martyred and 55 injured, ABNA reported quoting officials as saying.

At least 55 others were wounded in the attack in the largely Shia district of Kasra as worshippers were leaving the mosque after evening prayers.

More than 5,000 people have been killed and 12,000 injured since January, according to the United Nations.

Also on Wednesday, a bomb in the northern city of Mosul targeting a police convoy killed a policeman and injured three others,

The United Nations said on August 1 a total of 1,057 Iraqis were killed and another 2,326 were wounded in acts of terrorism and violence in the month of July, making it the country’s deadliest month since 2008.
