Iranian Ambassador: Military forces are tightly controlling the border strip with the Kurdistan Region

Iranian Ambassador to Iraq, Mohammad Kazem Al-Sadegh, affirmed on Sunday that the internal situation in Iran is stable, while noting that military forces are firmly securing the border with the Kurdistan Region.
Speaking at a press conference with television channel directors and a number of academics, attended by an INA correspondent, Al-Sadegh stated, “The Islamic Republic of Iran expresses its gratitude to Iraq for its support of the Iranian people’s cause in the war imposed upon them by America and the Zionist entity,” adding that “this stance is characteristic of the Iraqi people.”
He further stated, “Iran did not initiate the war but is defending itself against aggression, while the Gulf states are defending American bases,” emphasizing that “the Iranian leadership is strong and has made all the necessary preparations for a protracted war.”
He continued, “Iran is determined to continue its path of self-defense,” revealing that “some countries have offered mediation, but the Iranian leadership has rejected it.”
Regarding the commander of the Quds Force in the Revolutionary Guard, Ismail Qaani, the Iranian ambassador confirmed that “Qaani is on the ground and leading the battles,” stressing that “the internal situation in Iran is stable, and the military forces are firmly holding the border strip with the Kurdistan Region.
