Iraq’s Foreign Minister: No change in plans for US troop withdrawal from Iraq

Iraq’s Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein confirmed on Friday that there is no change to the plans for the withdrawal of US forces from Iraq.
Hussein stated in a press conference, as reported by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “there is no change to the plans for the withdrawal of US forces from Iraq by the end of 2026,” noting that “approximately 3,000 ISIS members have been transferred to Iraq from Syria, and the process is still ongoing.”
He explained that “European countries are the most hesitant about repatriating their citizens from ISIS,” indicating that “Iraq is in talks with Arab and Islamic countries regarding the repatriation of their citizens.”
He emphasized that “Iraq needs more financial support to deal with the influx of terrorists from Syria into Iraq.
