Mr. Al-Sadr emphasizes the importance of reform and combating corruption
The leader of the Shiite National Movement, Sayyid Muqtada al-Sadr, emphasized the importance of reform and combating corruption on Friday.
Sheikh Hussein al-Muhammadawi, the imam of the unified prayer in Maysan, quoted Sayyid al-Sadr as saying: “The importance of reform and combating corruption, the necessity of adhering to peaceful means in expressing national demands, and the need for concerted efforts to preserve the country’s sovereignty and stability.”
Sayyid al-Sadr pointed to “adherence to the path of reform and the rejection of any attempts to drag the popular base into side conflicts or deviate from fundamental principles,” stressing that “continuing to hold this prayer is a continuation of the ‘Shroud Revolution’ launched by the martyred Sayyid al-Sadr, and it is a religious and national duty that does not change with changing circumstances.”
Sayyid al-Sadr called for “lifting the freeze on the Peace Brigades in the Basra and Wasit governorates and following up on the investigations,” adding: “I demand that the judiciary treat everyone fairly and justly, as we have come to expect from it.
” He also called for “the highest levels of discipline,” considering the current stage a test of patience and morality in the face of those who seek to undermine the Sadr movement.
