The Speaker of Parliament discusses bilateral relations between the two countries with the Iranian Ambassador

Speaker of Parliament Haibat al-Halbousi met with the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Iraq, Mohammad Kazem Al-Sadegh, on Wednesday to discuss bilateral relations.
The Speaker’s media office stated in a press release received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that “Speaker of Parliament Haibat al-Halbousi met today, Wednesday, at the headquarters of the Progress Party leader, Mohammad al-Halbousi, with the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Iraq, Mohammad Kazem Al-Sadegh.”
The statement added that “at the beginning of the meeting, the Iranian Ambassador congratulated him on fulfilling his constitutional obligations and being elected Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament.” It further explained that “the meeting addressed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen them, in addition to regional developments and a number of issues of common interest.”
