Iraq Forces Kill over 10 Militants Inside ISIL-Held Ramadi
Military sources in the Western province of Anbar said on Wednesday that several Special Forces of the Iraqi army were heliborne to one of the main districts inside the militant-held Ramadi, and killed at least 10 ISIL in their first clashes in the region.
Military sources said that the 17th street in Ramadi was the scene of fierce clashes between the ISIL terrorists and the Iraqi forces, whose heliborne operations surprised the militants.
In the meantime, the sources earlier today informed about good news about Ramadi, including liberation of four new areas in the vicinity of the city and tightening of the siege on Ramadi.
The source further stressed that the Iraqi forces are advancing against the ISIL terrorists in different parts of Anbar province.
On Friday, Chief of the Iraqi Federal Police Lieutenant General Raed Shaker Jawdat said that 22 members of the ISIL group were killed and several more were injured in the Iraqi police’s operation in the Eastern flanks of Ramadi, in Anbar province.
“The rocket battalion of the Iraqi federal police bombed a number of positions of the ISIL in Jowaibah area East of Ramadi, killing 22 militants, including six foreigners,” Jawdat said.
