The Popular Mobilization Authority announced on Thursday the launch of a campaign to pursue remnants of terrorism, the Baath Party, and banned movements.
The commission stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “the Intelligence and Information Department of the Popular Mobilization Authority has launched a wide-scale arrest campaign to pursue remnants of terrorism, organizations of the dissolved Baath Party, and banned movements.”
She added, “The operation is still ongoing as a preemptive measure to arrest and dismantle a number of dangerous and wanted networks and elements, in anticipation of plots aimed at destabilizing security and stability.”
