US conspires economic rebellion against the Al-Sudanese’ government of Iraq

Shiite News: (Report/Ahmed Kazemzadeh) Ever since Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani was elected as the Prime Minister of Iraq, the question has been raised whether America will go along with his government or create hurdles for this government.

The main reason to raise this question or raise doubts about it is that the US has always blocked the way of Iraqi prime ministers who have tried to adopt independent policies in the internal and foreign fields.

An example of this is the government of Adil Abdul Mahdi. On his return from China, street protests began against Adil Abdul Mahdi, and the overthrow of his government and changes in electoral laws paved the way for Mustafa Kazimi’s rise to power.

Mustafa Kazmi continued to work according to the regional policies of the United States even a year after the end of his prime ministership. That is why America did not want Mustafa Kazemi to step down from the Prime Ministership.

All US efforts were aimed at either continuing the political vacuum or re-electing Mustafa Kazmi as Prime Minister. That is why the political vacuum was used to create Kazmi’s government for a year.

The aim of the US was to form such a coalition, which would once again present Mustafa Kazmi as the prime ministerial candidate in the parliament.

Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani became the Prime Minister with the support of the Shia Coordination Alliance headed by Nouri Maliki, which was unacceptable to America, that is why the movement of the American embassy in Baghdad accelerated after that.

In just one month, the US Ambassador to Baghdad, Alina L. Romanowski, met 4 times with the President, 5 times with the Prime Minister, and at least once with every minister and governor of the Central Bank of Iraq. The US ambassador also met several times with various officials, including important figures from Iraqi Kurdistan.

The main point of these meetings is that the Al-Sudanese’ government should either continue the path of Mustafa Kazmi’s government or wait for the end of government like the case of Adel Abdul Mahdi’s government.

In a statement by the US ambassador, which Iraqi observers described as a threat, he said that “protests will resume in Iraq and the Sudanese government should consider this.” In a continuation of these threats and activities, an independent representative of the Iraqi parliament recently revealed a new US plan against the Sudanese government, which aims to use the Iraqi economy’s dependence on the dollar to create economic problems, which can expose this country to new challenges.

What has drawn the US to use the dollar is that after the US occupation of Iraq in 2003, all the revenues of Iraqi government first converted in dollars, in clear violation of country’s sovereignty, then deposited at the US Federal Reserve and then transferred to the Central Bank of Iraq at the discretion of the US government.

The expenses of the Kuwait war were also paid from the same account. Now to put economic pressure on the Sudanese government and knowing that one of its promises is to strengthen the Iraqi dinar against the dollar, the US has resorted to three subversive measures.

The first step is to prevent three-quarters of Iraq’s foreign exchange from being transferred from the Federal Bank to the Central Bank of Iraq.

Second, the US has removed the 4 major Iraqi banks (Al-Awsat, Al-Qabd, Al-Ansari and Asia) from dealing in dollar transactions and third, to prevent Iraq from buying Iran’s gas and energy and to interfere and obstruct the process as before.

Although in response to these tactics, the Iraqi government has started to find alternative ways, including reducing the dependence on the dollar in its agenda, but resorting to these tactics definitely shows that the United States is not at all satisfied with the Sudanese policies.

The Al-Sudanese government wants to take serious action against widespread corruption in the country, which could expose the role of the Kazimi’ regime.

The current Iraqi government is moving towards a gradual restoration of national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and the next step could pave the way for the implementation of the parliament’s resolution on the full withdrawal of the United States from Iraq and the elimination of military bases in the country.

The United States is concerned that the activities initiated by the Kazimi government due to the Sudanese government may not reach a point where the United States has to start its work from scratch again.
