Lebanon’s Security Forces Arrest Grandson of Iraq’s Saddam Brother

The Lebanese General Security forces arrested Abdullah Yasser Sabawi, a grandson of Saddam Hussein’s half-brother Sabawi Ibrahim Al-Nasiri, responsible for the 2014 Camp Speicher massacre in Iraq.

The agency’s general-director Abbas Ibrahim said that that the General Security forces managed to arrest Sabawi, in light of his responsibility for a massacre that claimed thousands of casualties.

“We operate as per the international law, the judiciary and the warrants of exchanging and extraditing fugitives among nations, especially a brotherly country like Iraq,” General Ibrahim added.

In June 2014, ISIL terrorists — after overrunning much of northern and western of Iraq — reportedly killed more than 2,000 cadets and personnel at Salahudin’s Speicher military academy.
