American Embassy staff to leave Baghdad and Erbil

The American Embassy in Baghdad announced that the State Department has ordered its staff in Baghdad and Erbil to leave Iraq for security and Coronavirus reason.

The American Embassy in Baghdad said in a statement that because of security conditions and traveling procedures due to the Coronavirus epidemic, the staff of the Embassy and diplomatic support center in Baghdad and US consulate in Erbil were ordered to leave Iraq.

Visa issuance services in Baghdad and Erbil are still suspended, the statement said.

Meanwhile, the so-called US-led international coalition against ISIS in Iraq and Syria announced the suspension of its activities in Iraq for security reasons and the spread of the Coronavirus.
