Iran Ready to Overcome US Sanctions: Tehran Friday prayers Leader

Tehran’s provincial Friday Prayers Leader Hojjatoleslam Seyed Mohammad Hassan Aboutorabifard underlined Iran’s preparedness to overcome pressures by the US sanctions, and said that Washington’s policies are doomed to failure.

Addressing a large and fervent congregation of the people in Tehran on Friday, Hojjatoleslam Aboutorabifard said, “The US has failed in the world, and it is suffering from serious incapability and weakness in Southwest Asia region.”

The senior cleric underlined Iran’s military might, and said, “The Islamic Republic is standing in the world with a superior status in the international community.”

“The people of the world hate the US more than ever because of its unilateral wars in Afghanistan and Iraq as well as its proxy wars in other parts of the region,” Hojjatoleslam Aboutorabifard added.

In relevant remarks in late April, Hojjatoleslam Aboutorabifard blasted the US president’s anti-Iran rhetoric, and said that Donald Trump should take lesson from his predecessors’ mistakes over the past 40 years.

“The US president should choose advisors who can brief him on the Iranian nation’s resistance over the past four decades,” the senior cleric said.
