Main Phase of Iranian Army’s Wargames Slated for Saturday: Commander
Iranian Army Ground Force Commander Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan said the main stage of the Beit ul-Muqaddas Wargames will be held in the central province of Isfahan on Saturday.
“The Beit ul-Muqaddas exercises are held in two phases. The first phase, which included missile drills, was staged today and the main phase is slated for tomorrow in Isfahan,” General Pourdastan said on Friday.
He said all of the Ground Force units including armored, infantry, artillery, and CBN (anti-chemical, biological, and nuclear attacks) units will participate in Saturday’s phase of the wargames, which has been designed based on the Ground Force’s defense doctrine.
The senior commander underlined that the main objective of the exercises is maintaining and enhancing the Ground Force’s combat preparedness.
“We are confronting a new face of threats and (therefore) we must create the necessary capacities in ourselves in accordance to these threats,” General Poudastan underlined.
He further said that Friday’s missile drills, codenamed Beit ul-Muqaddas 26, were aimed at upgrading the capabilities of the force’s missile units.
The commander went on to say that the Ground Force’s missiles have been upgraded in terms of range, preciseness and destructive power.
Back in April, Pourdastan had stated that Iran’s Army Ground Force will stage 4 military drills during the current Iranian year (started on March 21), two of which he said are specialized wargames.
