Cleric Stresses Sunni Muslims Enthusiastic for Fraternal Ties with Shia

246594Prayer leader at Makki Mosque in Zahedan called Sunni community as loyal to the system in Iran and highlighted their demand for boosting fraternal ties with Shia Muslims.

Mowlavi Abdul Hamid Esmail Zehi, prayer leader of Makki Mosque in Zahedan participated in the prayer held for Eid al Adha to underscore the fraternal feelings of the Sunni community for Shia society hailing the commonalities of the two denominations.

He counted the belief in Allah, holy Qur’an, Ka’ba and Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) as some of these commonalities.

He said,” Sunni Muslims have stayed next to their Shia brothers under any condition,” and referred to the eight years of war imposed on Iran as a period when Sunni and Shia suffered alike.

He added, “Sunni community has never brought any trouble for the government,” and added the minor extremists have constantly been rejected by Sunni communities.

Mowlavi Abdul Hamid Esmail Zehi demanded for more attention to the capabilities of Sunni Muslims in Iran.

He also condemned the recent terror attack in Iranian city of Chabahar leading to the death of two Shia and Sunni citizens and announced the opposition of the Sunni community with any form of terror attack, piracy or robbery.
