‘NAM summit a turning point proving Iran not isolated’

iran jumaA senior Iranian cleric says the upcoming Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) summit in Tehran disproves the Western claims of the Islamic Republic’s isolation.

“Iran’s hosting of the NAM summit is a turning point and a practical and visible response to the global arrogance whose weapon is rusty and whose claims are baseless,” Tehran’s interim Friday Prayers Leader Hojjatoleslam Kazem Seddiqi said.

The 16th summit of the NAM member states will be held on August 26-31.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei will address the Tehran NAM summit.

The summit, during which the Islamic Republic will assume the rotating presidency of the movement for three years, will be also attended by the United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.

NAM, an international organization with 120 member states and 21 observer countries, is considered as not formally aligned with or against any major power bloc.

Hojjatoleslam Seddiqi said the arrogant front, which will “soon” disintegrate, has resorted to every ploy and conspiracy to imply that Iran is isolated.
“They did not spare any treachery or cruelty, but Iran is once again rising and glowing across the world,” he said, adding that it is in fact the US and arrogant powers whose existence is coming to an end.

As a role model, more attention is focused on Iran than ever, Hojjatoleslam Seddiqi added, noting that the world powers are also becoming more reliant on the Islamic Republic.
