Muslim world awakening

Aytollah-Imami-kashaniTehran’s provisional Friday Prayers Leader Ayatollah Mohammad Emami Kashani stressed that the recent popular uprisings in Egypt, Tunisia, Libya and other Islamic states signify that the Muslim community is entering a phase of awakening.

“The Muslim world has entered a phase of awakening and the Muslim Ummah (community) has, in the true  sense of the word, realized [the concepts of] prophecy and revelation,” Ayatollah Emami Kashani said, addressing a large and fervent congregation of people on Tehran University campus today.

“Muslim communities have got the reality that they face nihilism, so trying to follow the path laid by the late Imam Khomeini: the path to awakening and movement,” Ayatollah Emami Kashani added.

The cleric said although the West is afflicted by nihilism, “Muslims in Egypt, Libya and Tunisia are fighting with their lives to achieve this goal.”

Ayatollah Emami-Kashani further called on Muslim scholars and clergy across the globe, particularly in Egypt, to illuminate the different aspects of Islam and its principles and teachings, and encourage solidarity and amity in the Muslim world.
