38 Mourners of Imam Hussain (AS) Martyred Iran terror attack

Breaking_News_72At least 38 mourners commemorating the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (AS) Grandson of Holy Prophet (PBUH) have been martyred in a terror attack in the southeastern Iranian city of Chabahar.

According to report, at least 38 mourners, including women and children, have been martyred and many more wounded in the attack which  occurred at the Imam Hussein (AS) mosque in Chabahar on Wednesday when Iranians mourners were attending the Ashura ceremony, the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS).

An official from the Iranian Red Crescent Society, Mahmoud Mozaffar, said over 50 people have also been injured in the attack.

Meanwhile, Chabahar governor Ali Bateni said, “The main perpetrator of the terrorist attack which has martyred and wounded a number of Iranians has been arrested.”

“There were two terrorists who have been identified by police but they exploded one of their vests before any move,” he told IRNA.

The official said a second attacker was spotted and arrested before detonating his explosives.

He rejected reports that said there were three terrorists and two blasts and noted that investigations are underway to determine the exact number of the killed and wounded.

Officials say they have been receiving bomb threats over the past three days.
