Leader’s remarks at graduation ceremony of military officers

In further remarks, Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei said the materialistic powers, whose entire power and authority is based upon their military  might and financial calculations / financial clout, are unable to defeat a country whose authority and power is based upon the Islamic model. The leader added: “An obvious example of spiritual power overcoming materialistic power is the victory of the Islamic revolution in Iran, when the Iranian people, virtually with empty hands but with a staunch and unwavering faith in God Almighty, overcame the former dictatorial regime of the shah.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei emphasized that the Iranian nation, during eight years of sacred defense, and despite all sorts of sanctions imposed against the country, successfully defeated the corrupt Ba’athist regime, which was fully backed by both the West and the East, by simply relying on the faith and courage of the younger generation, and the faith and courage of Iran’s armed forces.

The commander-in-chief of Iran’s armed forces, Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei, described self-reliance and the blossoming of talents as in-built characteristics of the Islamic model (system) of government. He said in the Islamic model of government one is totally independent of the arrogant powers, and there is no need for them.

The Leader said one can fashion an armed forces according to Iranian thinking.
