Ayatollah-Ahmad-KhatamiTehran’s Friday Prayers Leader, Ayatollah Syed Ahmad Khatami, has described the unprecedented welcome accorded to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution in the holy city of Qom as another proof of the Qom people’s allegiance to Velayate Faqih or the Governance of Supreme Jurist.

Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei arrived in the holy city of Qom  on Tuesday 19th of October 2010 amidst unprecedented and warm welcome accorded to him by the people of Qom and later returned to Tehran following his 10-day trip.

Tehran’s Friday prayers leader further termed the trip of Ayatollah Khamenei to the holy city of Qom an important issue and said that: “The presence of the Leader in this holy city is undoubtedly the most auspicious trip, with wide-scale dimensions.”

Further in his remarks, Ayatollah Syed Ahmad Khatami added that: “The Global Arrogance has launch a futile attempt in the past 17 months to somehow show that the Iranian people have distanced themselves from sources of emulation and Islamic seminaries; but the highly welcomed trip of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution to holy Qom led them to withdraw from their stances.”

Tehran’s interim Friday prayers leader also pointed to the national day of fight against global arrogance or National Students Day and said that: “As long as America’s hegemonic behavior does not change against Iran, Washington will have to bury the dream of dialogue with Tehran.”

Ayatollah Khatami also described the current situation in Iraq as tragic and appalling, saying that no people of conscience would look at it with indifference.

Tehran’s Friday Prayers leader further warned that opponents of Iraq’s independence who want a destabilized Iraq to guarantee their own vested interests should know that they will themselves face the flames of fire and terror one day.
