“The World Needs Justice Beyond Power and Political Interests,” Says Mohseni Ejei

Shiite News: Hojjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Gholam-Hossein Mohseni Ejei, Head of the Judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran, has said that the world today needs justice more than ever—justice that is not selective and does not determine the rights of nations on the basis of their power or political interests.

Addressing a meeting of the heads of judiciaries from BRICS member countries in New Delhi, he described the rule of law as a fundamental pillar of order and development in society. He said BRICS, as an important economic and political grouping, could play a key role in shaping a new and fairer global order.

He also proposed establishing a joint framework for mediation to resolve commercial disputes among BRICS countries, setting up credible mediation centers, and training professional mediators.

The Iranian judiciary chief expressed concern over serious human rights violations around the world, saying that legal institutions should not remain silent about the killing of civilians and international crimes. He referred to what he described as aggression by the United States and the Israeli government against Iran, stating that innocent civilians, including women and children, as well as residential facilities, had been targeted.

He called on BRICS member states to condemn violations of Iran’s territorial integrity in accordance with the United Nations Charter and to take steps to prevent acts of aggression. He emphasized that, through the exercise of universal jurisdiction, those responsible for war crimes and crimes against humanity should be brought to justice under all circumstances.
