Mourning for Imam Reza’s Martyrdom in Qom; Scenes of Mourning at the Shrine of Lady Masuma

Shiite News: The holy city of Qom is observing an atmosphere of grief and mourning on the occasion of the martyrdom of Imam Ali ibn Musa al-Ridha (peace be upon him). Mourning gatherings have been held in various parts of the city, including mosques, Imambargahs, and religious centers. Pilgrims and mourners also visited the holy shrine of Lady Fatima Masuma (peace be upon her) to offer their condolences on the martyrdom of Imam Reza.

Qom, which is also known as the “City of the Sister of al-Ridha” because of its association with Lady Fatima Masuma, appeared draped in black on the anniversary of Imam Reza’s martyrdom. Mourning flags were displayed at homes, streets, and religious centers, while chants of “Ya Reza, Ya Reza” echoed throughout the city.

Servants of the holy shrine led a mourning procession from Imam Hasan al-Askari Mosque to the Shrine of Lady Fatima Masuma. Mourning gatherings were also held at the residences of senior religious authorities and scholars.

The Holy Jamkaran Mosque likewise remained filled with mourners. Public service stalls were set up in various parts of the city, where pilgrims were served drinks and food.
