President Masoud Pezeshkian has reaffirmed Iran’s legitimate right to respond to enemy attacks launched from any country.

“If they (the enemies) attack and invade our territory from any country, we have to respond to the raid, and this does not mean that we have rifts with that country or want to make its people upset,” he said on Sunday.

He also described Iran as a friend and a brother of the regional countries, adding that they must all join hands to foil the ominous US and Israeli plots.

He further underlined the need for Iran and its neighbors to resolve their differences domestically in defiance of efforts by the enemies to drag them to a war and sow discord among them.

“We stand strongly against and respond powerfully to those who attack our country. Certainly, our Armed Forces and volunteer Basij forces, who are present across the country, will defend the country will all their might,” Pezeshkian said.

“Our country Iran will not bow down to bullying, oppression and aggression.”

Additionally in his remarks, the Iranian president apologized to the people of the region, who are upset about current tensions.

Iranians, with different political inclinations, will stand united against the enemies and will not allow them to take even an inch of their land, he emphasized.

The US and Israel waged an illegal act of aggression against Iran on February 28 by assassinating Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei in flagrant violation of the country’s sovereignty.

So far, at least 1,332 Iranian people have been killed in the terrorist airstrikes, according to the Red Crescent Society.

Iran launched barrages of retaliatory missile and drone attacks on the Israeli-occupied territories as well as on the US assets in the regional countries.
