The Leader of Tehran’s Friday Prayer warns that if the Israeli regime intends to invade Iran, it will receive a tough response from the Iranian armed forces, but Iran’s military policy is based on deterrence.

Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami said the military policy of the Islamic Republic was based on deterrence and the recent exercises in the country were held to this aim.

Ayatollah Khatami warned that if the Israeli regime made a little mistake and intended to invade Iran, missiles of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) would respond to the regime.

He then referred to the US assassination of Lt. Gen. Qasem Soleimani, the brilliant figure in the fight against terrorism, and said: “By bombardment of Ain al-Assad, the US received a strong slap from Iran, yet the ultimate revenge awaits the perpetrators and consulters involving the assassination of General Soleimani, especially the criminal Trump who directly claimed the responsibility for the crime.”

General Ghasem Soleimani, the head of the IRGC elite Quds Force, and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the Second-in-Command of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) were martyred along with their 8 of their companions in the US strike on Baghdad airport on January 3, 2020.

General Soleimani was in Baghdad on the official invitation of Iraq’s Government.
