Islamic Revolution proved Islam is a political religion: Rohani

President Hassan Rouhani said on Tuesday that Islamic Revolution showed that Islam is a political religion.

Addressing a group of Ulima and clergymen in Golestan Province, President Rouhani said today, Iranphobia worldwide has dramatically subsided compared to the past two to four years.

He appreciated the member states of the United Nations for adopting the proposal ‘The World Against Violence and Extremism’ the president put forward in his speech to the General Assembly last September and said that a person speaks at the UN on behalf of Iranian people about the world free of extremism, all governments vote to the idea.

Rohani earlier mentioned that the standing cohabitation and unity among Shia and Sunni brothers of Torkaman, Fars, Balouch and Sistani is an exemple and model for others, stating the balanced path, brotherhood and unity is what the divine religion of Islam set for Muslims.

President Hassan Rouhani said the time of extremism and police state is over, putting accentuation on the prime importance of unity and moderation in the Islamic World.
