Al Wefaq’s Education Team says Bahrain Training Institute being dealt on sectarian basis
The Education Team in Al Wefaq National Islamic Society said transferring 61 Bahraini employees from the Bahrain Training Institute (BTI) comes within the Education Ministry’s flagrant sectarian targeting of qualified educational and training cadres.
Al Wefaq’s Education Team demanded the employees be reinstated in their jobs after they had been arbitrarily downgraded to positions lower than their qualifications.
The Team stated that the Ministry’s sectarian targeting of the BTI employees, and that had started over two years ago, is a serious turning point in the areas of training and profession in Bahrain and will bring negative consequences in the near future on both the training and academic levels.
The Team noted that the downgrading of over 60 employees in the BTI to replace them with lower-qualified persons was made either through recruitment or promotion, and without following the legal procedures if the Institute. The Team said this is one of the damaging methods to the essential bases of the Institute’s leading professional qualifying programs since 20 years.
Al Wefaq’s Education Team demanded an end to the Education Ministry’s sectarian and aggressive measures that have harmed the position the BTI had gained locally and regionally. The Team also demanded that all arbitrarily transferred employees in the BTI be reinstated in their jobs and to stop the administrative corruption, which led to a decline in the level of training at the institute, and to hold accountable those who deliberately worked to weaken the BTI professionally and academically during the last thirty months.
