The anti-regime demonstrators took to the streets of the capital, Manama, to denounce the continued detention of Salman and other jailed activists, according to al-Wefaq’s Arabic-language website.

Chanting anti-regime slogans, the protesters expressed solidarity with political prisoners.

Sheikh Salman was arrested on December 28, 2014, after Manama accused him of seeking regime change and collaborating with foreign powers.

The report also said that Manama regime forces raided several houses in Saar village and made several arrests on Monday.

Since mid-February 2011, thousands of anti-regime protesters have held numerous demonstrations on the streets of Bahrain, calling for the Al Khalifa family to relinquish power, Press TV reported.

Scores of Bahrainis have been killed and hundreds of others injured and arrested in the ongoing crackdown on peaceful demonstrations
